Welcome to the MSD of Mt. Vernon Job Applicant Portal!

 

If you are searching for a job, you are highly encouraged to set up your applicant portal account (Step 1 below) and on-line resume along with uploading any attachments (Step 2 below) now rather than waiting until you see jobs posted (Step 3 below).  Jobs are only posted for five days and are automatically removed from the website at 3:30 p.m. on the last day of posting.  This means you must have hit the "submit" button at the bottom of the Job Application questions' page for that specific posting prior to 3:30 p.m. CST. 
 

 

You may search open jobs at any time by selecting the Job Search tab above.

 

Follow these steps to apply for a job.  Only on-line applications are accepted. Paper applications are not available.  You will need a valid email address to apply on-line.  Free email is available at www.gmail.com.  There is a kiosk in the Lobby at the District Administration Office if you need computer access.

Step 1:  When using Mt. Vernon’s Job Applicant Portal for the first time, you will need to create an Applicant Portal Account.  Please create only one Applicant Portal Account.  (You may apply to multiple job openings from one account.)  Fields and questions marked with a red line are required.

  

TIPS:  You can edit your Applicant Portal account at any time using the My Profile link on the My Resume page.  You can create an automated Job Search Agent to notify you when a new job is posted that matches your search criteria.  The automated email is sent at 3:00 p.m. on your designated schedule of daily, weekly, etc. (remember-jobs are only required to be posted for one week).  Access the Job Search Agent on the My Saved Jobs tab.  Jobs found by the search agent are automatically added to the My Saved Jobs page.

  

 

Step 2:  Login to your account and complete a resume by selecting the My Resume tab above.  You only need to create a resume once, but you may update it at any time.

 

TIPS:  Applicants will have the opportunity to upload a maximum of 10 attachments by selecting the My Documents & Letters link on the My Resume page. Teacher and administrator applicants, along with substitute teacher applicants (if applicable), should upload Indiana teacher's license, transcripts, and Praxis score reports (if taken). Written reference forms or letters of reference are no longer required. Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded in the absence of official transcripts. The most frequent problems encountered by applicants are related to the security time-out feature and uploading documents. The time-out feature is there to protect your data. If you have your information ready to go when you apply, you should be able to complete your application within the time-out period. Document uploads are successful when the format and kilobyte limits are adhered to.  Before uploading any document, make sure that it is under 2048 kb in size. The following formats are supported:  doc, txt, xls, pdf, gif, tiff, jpg, jpeg.  

  

 

Step 3:  When you see a job listed that you are interested in, apply to that open job individually during the posting period.  Jobs are posted on-line as they become available.  After searching for and viewing an open job, select “apply now” on the Job Detail page for that job.  You will then answer a series of questions created for that specific job posting.  Please allow ample time to complete these questions.  All applicants must apply on-line prior to 3:30 p.m. on the last day of posting, even if you are a current or former MSD of Mt. Vernon employee.  This means you must have hit the "submit" button at the bottom of the Job Application questions' page for that specific posting prior to 3:30 p.m. CST.  After you click "submit" then the My Job Application History page displays with the application added to the list confirming your application was submitted.  (You should also receive an automated email stating your application was submitted.)  The application is assigned a status of "In Process" until the application is manually reviewed by the Personnel Office.
